Ewing Cemetery
From the OHCE Oklahoma County Genealogy Group The location of Ewing Cemetery is several miles away from what is usually given. The following directions will get you to the right place. Ewing Cemetery is located near Wilshire Blvd. and N. Westminster Road in Oklahoma City. Go west on Wilshire Blvd. for 1/3 mile. On the right (north) side of the road, you will see Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. To get to Ewing Cemetery, use the entrance to the Oaklawn Memorial Gardens and take the lane to the right until you pass through Oaklawn and into the Ewing Cemetery. The GPS coordinates are 353307N and 0972022W. Ewing Cemetery goes back before statehood and started out as a family burial plot. It was an all black cemetery at one time. In 2004, the cemetery was not kept up. Perhaps the families had all moved away. This cemetery is a striking contrast to the well-kept Oaklawn Cemetery. You can see a little shed that is on Oaklawn property. |
